Like really windy. Now came the time for me to experience the infamous Icelandic wind. Our tours for yesterday, today and tomorrow were cancelled because of it. Some singular tours were cancelled earlier as well. Let's see how Tuesday will be, hopefully then the tours will resume to their normal schedule.
The wind has gone down so I went for a little walk. It was weird to see the pier without the boats as they had to be transferred to a more closed place to avoid damages. It was also weird to see the pier without Holmasol's ramp, as it got ripped away by the wind and carried all the way across the shore. That probably gives you and idea how strong the wind has been. I will be going to the office tomorrow so I'll be able to see what it's like to handle things when the nature does what it wants.
But if nothing else positive, it snowed a bit today as well so the mountain tops are white. There hasn't really been anything worth mentioning this week, since the weather conditions have been forcing us to cancel tours and it has been a slow week in general. One extra task that I did was download pictures from the company's blog to a hard drive. I am also proud of myself for being able to do the end of the day accounting stuff for Holmasol and Ambassador all by myself. The process is straightforward, with counting the money and printing the receipt for card purchases, but as I mentioned everything being in Icelandic gives the twist to it. I am also able to handle the checking in and if someone comes in to buy a ticket last minute I can sell it to them. Feeling good about how things are going at the moment workwise. Tomorrow is a new day so I'll report more then. See you!
